Management Team

StambaughLIPicLarry G. Stambaugh, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO
Mr. Stambaugh joined the Company’s Board of Directors as Chairman on December 5, 2008 and became President and CEO for CryoPort in March 2009. He is currently a Principal of Apercu Consulting and sits on the boards of companies, including EcoDog, and BioCom. He is also currently on the Board of Directors of the Corporate Directors Forum. At Apercu, Mr. Stambaugh serves as an advisor to several private and public boards and CEOs, concentrating on strategic business direction, turnarounds and board governance. Stambaugh brings to CryoPort more than 30 years of successful experience building global businesses and setting strategies. He also brings an extensive background in life sciences and clean tech including relationships with and knowledge of Contract Research Organizations, and Biotech and Pharmaceutical companies. He earned his BBA in Accounting/Finance from Washburn University in 1969.

CatherineDollLIPicCatherine Doll, CFO, Treasurer and Assistant Corporate Secretary
Ms. Doll became Chief Financial Officer for CryoPort in August 2009. Ms. Doll is the owner and chief executive officer of The Gilson Group, LLC, which she founded in 2006. The Gilson Group, LLC provides financial and accounting consulting services to public companies, including Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 compliance, SEC and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting and finance and accounting systems implementations and conversions. From 1996 to 2006, she was an associate with Resources Global Professionals, where she provided management, financial and accounting services for a variety of clients. Doll received a B.A. in Economics, with an emphasis in Accounting, from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1983. She has over 25 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.

McDowellLIPicJohn "Jay" McDowell, Senior Vice President, Logistics and Operations
Mr. McDowell became Senior Vice President, Logistics and Operations for CryoPort, Inc. in March of 2010.  Mr. McDowell brings over 30 years of experience in the Logistics and Supply Chain.  Most recently McDowell was President and Founder of The Saddleback Strategy Group, where he served as a senior advisor to small and medium size businesses.  Previously he was Executive Vice President of Logistics for Apria Healthcare Group, where he was responsible for 16 regional distribution centers; and Vice President of Distribution Services for the wholesale food distributor Bozzuto's Inc., where he streamlined a routing and dispatch system involving 140 drivers and 450 warehouse associates. Mr. McDowell was also Vice President of Logistics for TruServ Corporation, and consolidated the nationwide logistics network of TruValue Hardware and ServiStar/Coast-to-Coast Hardware following the merger of those two companies.  Earlier, he spent 11 years with PepsiCo, including serving as Group Manager - Field Operations for Pepsi-Cola International, where he established and managed operations in several Eastern European and Asian markets.   Jay received his Bachelor of Science in business from Ball State University, and his MBA in Operations Management from the University of Colorado.

Chris Campbell, Vice President, Global Business Development
Mr. Campbell became Vice President, Global Business Development for CryoPort, Inc. in March 2010. He had held the position of Executive Director, Global Business Development since joining the company in December of 2009.  Campbell brings to CryoPort more than 20 years of successful executive-level experience helping companies design, develop, market and sell technologically-advanced products to multinational life science, pharmaceutical, medical device and electronics manufacturers. As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Campbell directed the globalization of Static Control Components, Inc.’s ESD Products Division and positioned Maco Bag Corporation’s Mexican subsidiary Miller Packaging to tackle the North American market. He has also consulted on an independent basis assisting firms with individual and organizational development.  Mr. Campbell received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon.

Bret Bollinger, Vice President, Operations
Mr. Bollinger became Vice President of Operations for CryoPort in February 2008. Prior to joining CryoPort, since July of 2003, He was Director of Operations and Engineering for Triangle Brass Manufacturing. From July of 2001 through July 2003, Bollinger served as a Business Process Consultant for Cardinal Health and from July of 1999 to July of 2001, he served as Operations and Order Fulfillment Manager for Ingersoll-Rand’s Falcon Lock Company. Bret has extensive background in domestic and international manufacturing environments. In addition, he has experience in new product design and implementation. Mr. Bollinger holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Sacramento State University.

Carlton M. Johnson, Director and Secretary
Mr. Johnson has been In-House Legal Counsel for Roswell Capital Partners LLC (“ Roswell ”) of Alpharetta , Georgia since joining the firm in April of 1996. Roswell is a fund management company focused on private equity investments in small-cap publicly traded companies. He has been a member of the Alabama Bar since 1986, the Florida Bar since 1988, and the State Bar of Georgia since 1997. He was a shareholder in the Pensacola , Florida Bar Registered (AV rated) of Preeminent law firms, Smith, Sauer, DeMaria & Johnson from 1988-1996. In 1996 he was Vice President and President-Elect of the 600 member Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association. During 1993 through to 1996 he served on the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors. Johnson earned a degree in History/Political Science, with high honors, at Auburn University in 1982 and Juris Doctorate at Samford University – Cumberland School of Law, with high honors in 1986. He has served on the Board of Directors for Peregrine Pharmaceuticals Inc. since 1999. Mr. Johnson is the Chair of their Audit Committee, and has served in various positions for this emerging bio-tech company including assisting in business development and licensing, financing and general corporate governance. Since 2001, Johnson has served on the Board of Directors of Patriot Scientific, Inc.  He is Chair of the Compensation Committee and serves on the Audit Committee, as well as the Executive Committee and is Patriot Scientific Co-Chair to the holding company for intellectual property licensing and enforcement.

Adam M. Michelin, Director and Audit Committee Chair
Mr. Michelin became a member of the Company’s Board of Directors in June 2005. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer, of Naturade, Inc. a position he has held since November, 2007. Mr. Michelin has held several leadership positions including CEO for Enterprise Group from March 2005, Principle of Kibel Green, Inc., a position he held for 11 years prior to joining Enterprise Group, and Partner of KPMG for 10 years. Mr. Michelin has over 30 years of practice in the areas of executive leadership, operations and is very experienced in evaluating, structuring and implementing solutions for companies in operational and/or financial crisis. Michelin received his Juris Doctorate from the University of West Los Angeles and his Bachelor of Science from Tri State University .

John H. Bonde, Director
Mr. Bonde is the Chief Executive Officer of eQsys, Inc., a position he has held since November 2008. From January 2005 through January 2006, he served as the Division President of CGS Systems. Mr. Bonde has over 35 years experience working in various management positions at a number of successful high tech companies and has been a director of numerous private companies. Bonde earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from City University of New York, Queens College in 1969 and a Master's of Science in Business Policy from Columbia University in 1982.

Mr. Smith is currently President of Strategic Concepts Ltd and a global supply chain and logistics consultant. He was formerly Senior Manager Transportation & Logistics for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.

Larry O’Toole
Mr. O'Toole is currently the CEO of Dorma Group North America - has a broad business, strategic and development background in manufacturing based industries. He was a past Vice President at Black & Decker, Division President at Ingersoll-Rand Corporation and CEO of Protection Service Industries.

Rick Kriss
Mr. Kriss is Founder and President of KLATU Networks, a strategic technology development company focused on wireless sensor monitoring systems in cold-chain applications. He is formerly President of Xsilogy, an investor backed developer of wireless sensor network systems, and he has more than 25 years of executive experience working for well-known, high-technology companies in both a CFO and VP of Marketing positions.
