Position Summary
This position reports to the Vice President of Logistics. The incumbent is responsible for the management, leadership and oversight of daily operations for Cryoport’s logistics center located in Livingston, NJ. His/her responsibilities also include daily management of the Client Care team, warehousing and fulfillment operations. Specific responsibilities include: routinely planning for work loads, organizing for anticipated workloads, managing, training and developing employees. Important measures of the incumbent’s competency are his/her effectiveness in managing work load and workflow efficiencies as well as demonstrated responsiveness to clients and quick reaction to highly demanding situations.

He/she is responsible for assuring: facility maintenance by working with plant engineering and vendors, the maintenance and training to assure an effective security program including all regulatory requirements; and a superior quality control program as defined by the Quality Assurance department.

Daily, weekly and monthly reporting of vital metrics to appropriate management personnel in various departments is required. Reporting requirements are agreed on with the Vice President – Logistics and include suggestions for improvements, escalation management and resolution implementation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Logistics Center Management 

  • Establishing and reporting on a set of germane metrics measuring the effectiveness and improvement trends in the department
  • Educating and enforcing the Company’s documented Security Program
  • Regulatory Compliance with TSA/DHS requirements
  • Maintenance
  • Compliance with Quality Assurance programs
  • Training Program that includes OSHA, TSA, Quality Assurance, Human Resources and personnel development
  • Educating his/her department on fundamental expectations and enforcing dress code, cleanliness requirements, etc.


  • Manage daily attendance, workload and personnel issues
  • Planning, training and executing an ever-improving workflow management
  • Escalations and resolutions
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting
  • Assist in developing training programs for educating and improving performance of personnel
  • Assist in developing, and conduct, training of personnel on the use of the Cryoportal. Test competencies and trending increasingly extensive use
  • Develop and conduct training on effective communications and up selling for client care and logistics
  • Develop, generate and disseminate reports as agreed on with Vice President - Logistics
  • Develop, generate and disseminate reports as agreed on with Vice President - Logistics monthly activity reports on all carriers (integrators, freight forwarders, couriers, etc.
  • Accountable for operating budget relating to assignment
  • Responsible for the accuracy for invoicing
  • Responsible for the accuracy of accounts payable
  • Charged with achieving efficiencies by workflow cost reductions and implementing methods of improving efficiencies

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree - business administration, management, etc
  • 5+ years international, biological logistics experience preferred
  • 10+ years general logistics management & customer service required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work with ERPs
  • Second language fluency a big plus (written & verbal)
