Celebrating the Successful Launch of Cryoport Systems’ IntegriCell™ Cryopreservation Facility in Houston
On October 22, Cryoport Systems marked an exciting milestone with the official launch of our IntegriCell™ Cryopreservation facility at the Cryoport Supply Chain Campus in Houston. The day was filled with energy, collaboration, and a sense of shared accomplishment as we gathered with industry leaders, partners, and colleagues to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in cryopreservation services.
The event began with opening remarks from Cryoport Systems CEO Mark Sawicki, who welcomed attendees and shared his vision for IntegriCell™. He highlighted how this new facility strengthens our complete end-to-end (E2E) supply chain offering, from logistics to cryopreservation, biostorage, kit production, and more, ensuring the highest levels of quality and reliability throughout the entire temperature-controlled supply chain.
Mark also emphasized the critical role of partnerships in this journey, including our collaboration with NMDP BioTherapies® and the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, whose representatives were in attendance to celebrate this achievement with us. These partnerships will drive innovation in cryopreservation and supply chain solutions, and we were proud to have representatives from both of these teams at the event.
Following Mark’s remarks, Matt Plaud, COO of IntegriCell™, delivered a heartfelt speech, thanking the team for their dedication and hard work in bringing this vision to life.
He spoke warmly about the commitment and passion that drove the successful launch of IntegriCell™ in Houston, a facility that will play a pivotal role in advancing cryopreservation and supporting cell therapies around the globe.
The excitement continued as attendees took part in guided tours of our state-of-the-art facilities. Matt and his team led a deep dive into the new IntegriCell™ facility, offering insights into the cutting-edge technologies that make this cryopreservation center unique.
Robert Betts, Supply Chain Center Manager, provided an inside look at our renowned logistics operations, showcasing how Cryoport Systems ensures the safe and timely transport of critical biologic materials. Meanwhile, Amy Hendricks, Global BioServices Director, took visitors through our BioServices operations, highlighting the full spectrum of biostorage, kit production, and drug packaging and labeling. Hugo Zambrino, Product Manager, demonstrated a first look at the revamped High Volume (HV3) shipping system and Safepak® System accessory, offering a hands-on experience with these innovative products that will be launching in the coming weeks.
The event concluded with a reception, where representatives from Cryoport Systems, MVE Biological Solutions, CRYOPDP, and CRYOGENE hosted tabletop discussions to provide further insights into their offerings. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with these experts, discuss business opportunities, and explore additional tours of our sister companies’ facilities and solutions.
As the day wrapped up, Mark Sawicki thanked everyone for joining us in celebrating the successful launch of IntegriCell™. This event was not only a celebration of the hard work and dedication of our team but also a testament to our continued commitment to revolutionizing the life sciences supply chain. With IntegriCell™ now integrated into Cryoport Systems’ full suite of services, we are excited to help our clients preserve the future of medicine.
