Celebrating Innovation at the Cryoport Systems Grand Opening in Louvres, France.

A milestone for advanced therapy supply chains

Cryoport Systems recently opened the doors of its newest Global Supply Chain Center (GSCC) in Louvres, France, marking a major step forward in how cell and gene therapies move safely and compliantly across Europe and the world. Strategically located just outside Paris and minutes from Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), this GSCC strengthens our integrated network and brings critical capabilities closer to sponsors, CROs, CDMOs, and clinical sites throughout the region, and strengthens our support of regional animal health and reproductive medicine organizations.

For our team, the grand opening was a celebration of years of coordinated work to design, build, validate, and staff an operations hub purpose-built for the complex demands of temperature-controlled supply chain management and logistics in advanced therapies.

Why Louvres? And why now?

The Paris region is a thriving center for biopharma innovation, and proximity to CDG enables rapid access to major corridors servicing clinical and commercial logistics across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. Our new GSCC integrates seamlessly with Cryoport Systems’ global network, ensuring clients experience consistent quality and services standards across all global facilities, regardless of origin or destination.

From the start, the facility is designed to deliver end-to-end, temperature-controlled supply chain solutions under one roof, with logistics capabilities live from day one and additional services (BioServices, biostorage, and more) rolling out in phased expansions. This approach makes the complete Cryoport Systems suite of services easily accessible to sponsors and manufacturers looking for a compliant, scalable partner for clinical and commercial programs

Inside the Louvres GSCC

During the grand opening, guests toured the campus and saw firsthand how the site brings together specialized logistics, custom-engineered shipping systems, informatics, and Chain of Compliance® controls under ISO-certified parameters. Leaders emphasized our commitment to replicating operational excellence across all Cryoport Systems locations so that clients receive the same high-quality experience globally, a theme that was echoed throughout the day’s conversations.

Onsite remarks highlighted that the Louvres campus spans two operational sections, BioServices and logistics, and is already scaling its local team to meet growing client demand in Europe. This facility is unique within Europe with plans to triple staffing over the coming years as services expand.

Guests also heard about the timeline for the BioServices build-out, with targets set to bring short-term and long-term biostorage online as part of the integrated GSCC offering in 2026.

Event Highlights: Tours, Conversations, and a Shared Purpose

The day began with a ribbon cutting and welcome remarks, followed by guided tours of the site’s operational areas. Attendees explored workflows from order receipt to dispatch, reviewed packaging technologies, and discussed how continuous monitoring and documented Chain of Compliance protocols reduce risk and ensure that therapies arrive in their required states.

Throughout the event, discussion was lively and robust, encompassing topics from import/export pathways to QP release and IOR services, and there was much excitement around how the GSCC approach enables integration with global dispatch, supporting urgency and quick turnaround.

One sentiment resonated across every conversation, highlighting that the patient is at the center of everything we in the industry do. The Louvres facility exists to uphold that responsibility, protecting payload integrity and safety at every step so that clinical and commercial programs can proceed with confidence.

Moving Medicine Forward

Cell and gene therapies are reshaping patient care in real-time, offering new hope to patients with indications for which no current treatment or cure exists. The supply chain and logistics behind these therapies demand new levels of precision and transparency. Our Louvres GSCC helps to de-risk these journeys with ISO-certified SOPs, purpose-engineered shipping systems, integrated informatics, and continuous monitoring within the industry’s most robust and comprehensive quality framework.

Our sincere thanks to clients, partners, colleagues, and industry leaders who joined us to commemorate this milestone and to everyone who helped bring this facility from concept to reality. We’re incredibly excited about what the future holds in Paris, and we look forward to what’s next.
